Scenic flights over the falls
Flight of Angels is the name many visitors use for a scenic flight over Victoria Falls. In practice you choose between a helicopter and a microlight, between a short and a longer route, and between a flight from the Zimbabwe side and one from Zambia. Prices below are those listed by operators and by one rate sheet for 2026. They change, and they depend on the season and the group.
The most important rule is to read the price in two parts. The operator lists a base fare, and a government fee, fuel surcharge or aviation fee comes on top. A flight advertised at $173 costs $210 once the listed fee is added.

What the price includes
On the Zimbabwe side the operator includes transfers from hotels in Victoria Falls Town. Lodges outside the town cost extra. The fee on the listed prices is a government fee and fuel surcharge on the Zimbabwe side, and an aviation fee on the Zambian rate sheet. Neither is the KAZA Univisa, which is a $50 entry permit (see our travel tips).
Children under 3 fly free on a lap, according to the operator, and from age 3 the full fare applies. You cannot choose your seat, because of the weight distribution. The usual weight limit is 120 kg, and the operator will discuss individual cases. Ask about the cancellation rules for bad weather before you book.
Microlight flights from Zambia
The same Zambian rate sheet lists microlight flights at $190 for 15 minutes and $380 for 30 minutes, with a $6 aviation fee on top. The rate sheet is an intermediary's price list, so confirm the price with the operator. Ask the operator about age and weight limits when you book.
Flights are also sold in combinations with a cruise or rafting. These package examples are valid until 30 November 2026, and they start from the following prices per person.

How to choose
Four questions that settle most decisions.
Helicopter or microlight?
Compare the minutes and the total price. A 15 minute microlight ($190 plus $6) costs less than the 25 minute helicopter flights, but it is a shorter flight in a different aircraft.
Short or long?
Every extra minute costs more, so decide how long you want to be in the air. On the Zimbabwe side the 22 minute flight at $321 is the middle option.
Which side to fly from?
Pick the side where you sleep. Crossing the border for a flight adds time and paperwork, and transfers are included only for local hotels.
Which month?
The water is highest around March and April, and spray can limit the view from the ground. A flight shows the falls from above. See the best time to visit.
